"Hidden Valley"
I’d like to get on my horse,
And ride into the mountains with no particular course.
I like the feeling of the peace and quiet,
And know there’s no people to cause a big riot.
It feels good to have a good mount under your saddle,
To know that whatever happens he won’t get rattled.
You look for trails that will take you someplace new,
It doesn’t always work but you do find a few.
They take you to places that you have never been,
And it gives you goose bumps to think has this ever been seen.
Beautiful hidden valleys, with a meandering creek,
Which is dwarfed by the heights of majestic mountain peaks.
The grass is knee-high in the valley below,
My dog, my horse, and myself make a mighty fine trio.
We camp down by the creek in the tall sweet grass,
Content in our own mind there’s lots of feed to last.
Maybe these valleys only exist in my mind,
But I like to keep riding, you never know what you’ll find. |
